due to beta blockade but amount of most beta-blockers excreted
in milk is too small to affect infant. |

anticoagulants |
Risk of haemorrhage;
increased by vitamin-K deficiency. Warfarin appears safe but
some authorities consider breast-feeding is contraindicated
during therapy. Phenindione should be avoided. |
| 3. Respiratory system |

| Aminophylline |
Irritability in infant has
been reported. |
| Clemastine |
Drowsiness in infant has been
reported. |
Cough
mixtures containing
iodides |
Use alternative cough mixtures. |
| Ephedrine,
Pseudoephedrine |
Irritability and disturbed
sleep reported with ephedrine. Significant amounts of pseudoephedrine
in milk. |
