In view of the global advancement and increasing potential of application of biotechnology for human benefits, the company has set up the infrastructure for in-house R&D in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology Division. Being equipped with the necessary expertise and facilities, this division has been engaged in the areas of enzymology, molecular biology, diagnostics and microbial technology. These involve gene manipulation, protein purification and fermentation in liquid as well as solid substrate media and down- stream aspects. Research is in progress with an overall objective of contributing to the development of biotechnology-based products and processes, relevant for important areas of microbial technology, healthcare products, plant biotechnology and pollution control.
