Actions
Acidin
Gel contains
the basic compounds that reduce the acidity of gastric contents.
Aluminium hydroxide offers persistent antacid action, an important
factor in the management of peptic ulcer and provides protective
action on the raw surface. Magnesium hydroxide offers rapid
and prolonged antacid action with higher acid neutralising
capacity than magnesium trisilicate. Dimethicone (Simethicone)
relieves flatulence and by defoaming the gastric juice reduces
its tendency towards gastro-oesophageal reflux.
Advantages
Higher
acid neutralising capacity with antiflatulent activity.
Pleasant
taste for better patient compliance.
Normal
colonic motility
Indications
Acidin
Gel a carefully balanced antacid preparation for effective
management of symptoms associated with hyperacidity, gastritis,
peptic ulcer, heartburn due to hiatus hernia and in pregnancy;
flatulence and post operative gas pain.
Precautions
To be
used under supervision of a physician in patients with renal
impairment.
Drug
Interactions

interfere with absorption of tetracycline and iron. Absorption
of oral phenothiazines, digoxin and isoniazid may also be
impaired.
