Actions
The
diastase in Vitazyme is a potent, dependable, powerful enzyme
complex, obtained from Aspergillus oryzae, comprising important
amylases and proteases as its principal components.

Actions
The multienzyme
complex in Vitazyme
Drops
provides both amylases and proteases. Two varieties
of amylase are present viz. alpha-amylase that acts on polysaccharides
like amylose, amylopectin and glycogen to break it into tri-or
disaccharides, and saccharogenic glucose producing amylase
which, along with alpha-amylase, results greater hydrolysis
of carbohydrate. Other enzymes present are maltase to hydrolyse
maltose and cellulase for better and greater saccharogenic
(glucose producing) activity. Proteases present in the enzyme
complex in Vitazyme
Drops
can act both in acid and in alkaline media and cause
effective digestion of protein aiding proper nutrition to
the infants and children. Three essential oils viz. caraway,
cinnamon and cardamom, act as carminatives and help to provide
relief from gastric discomfort and flatulent colic.
Indications
Vitazyme
Drops
is indicated for disturbed digestion in infancyŃcarbohydrate
indigestion, chronic diarrhoea, fermentative dyspepsia and
flatulent colic due to indigestion and poor appetite
Dose
For
infants less than 1 year : 0.5 ml (about 10 drops) daily.
For
children above 1 year : 0.5 ml (about 10 drops)
twice daily.
To
be given diluted with water, during or immediately after meals.
