Actions
The
diastase in Vitazyme is a potent, dependable, powerful enzyme
complex, obtained from Aspergillus oryzae, comprising important
amylases and proteases as its principal components.
|
This diastase strain provides :
(a)
alpha-amylaseŃthat accelerates starch digestion.
(b)
gluco-amylaseŃfor complete carbohydrate breakdown into
glucose molecules resulting in its proper absorption and assimilation.
It is also an established fact that combined action
of both alpha and gluco amylases causes the extent of hydrolysis
of carbohydrate greater than that produced by alpha-amylase
alone. It is also known that gluco-amylase helps to produce
more amount of glucose than pancreatic amylase in the same
amount of time.
(c)
Other essential disaccharidases, eg. maltase, invertase,
cellulase for rapid and complete digestion of carbohydrate.
Vitazyme
also supplies potent proteases which are superior to pepsin,
trypsin and papain in digesting casein, fish, meat, egg albumin
and particularly lentil proteins.
Patients with digestive disorders
develop symptoms of distension and flatulence with bacterial
fermentation of indigested nutrients. Carminative oils, added
to the formulation, help achieving instant relief of such
symptoms as these carminatives help to generate a belch or
passage of the flatus, possibly due to their irritant action
on the gastrointestinal tract through which they stimulate
movements and relax sphincters.
Vitazyme
has a powerful digestive index-each 5 ml digesting
40 g of cooked starch. In a state of digestive disordersVitazyme
offers improved digestion, better absorption and
increased assimilation.
Indications
Impaired digestion, fermentative dyspepsia, heartburn, sense
of fullness after food intake, loss of appetite, as nutritional
aid during convalescence and in chronic illness; as supportive
therapy in cardiac ailments, digestive problems in old age
and childhood; also useful during pregnancy and in smokers.
Dose
10-15
ml (2-3 teaspoonfuls approx.) twice daily during or immediately
after meals, or as directed by the physician.
