Livotone
Capsule
is an effective preparation for all round care of common functional
disorders of liver and gastrointestinal tract, containing
essential pharmacopoeial ingredients. It stimulates appetite,
improves digestion and absorption and sustains normal gastrointestinal
functions; it also activates hepatic functions and offers
hepatoprotective actions against known hepatotoxins. Livotone
Capsule provides therapeutic benefit in the management
of infective or hepatotoxin induced hepatitis, helps proper
utilisation of nutrients and regulates metabolic functions
of liver.

Kalmegh and Bile salts are effective cholagogues and choleretics.
These produce increased biliary flow with increased excretion
of toxic bilirubin and other noxious agents along with the
bile and as well, may accelerate other metabolic functions
of the liver. Increased biliary flow into the duodenum facilitates
proper digestion and absorption of fats and fat-soluble substances
and minerals. Bile salts along with Cascara, also help complete
and uneventful evacuation of waste materials. Kalmegh is also
found to have the property of maintaining the structure and
function of endoplasmic reticulum and inducing hepatic microsomal
enzymes and hence is useful in hepatic disorders and toxicity
due to known hepatotoxins. Bile salts also help release of
gastrointestinal hormones, activate intestinal and pancreatic
lipolytic and proteolytic functions and ensure nourishment.

Indications
Livotone
Capsule
is useful in the management of viral, alcoholic or drug-induced
hepatitis; liver and gastrointestinal dysfunctions associated
with poor appetite, indigestion, flatulence, griping, habitual
constipation, fat intolerance, haemorrhoidal bleeding and
allergic skin disorders. It is also useful as an adjuvant
during growth period in children.

for reduction in dosage.
Precautions
Due
caution should be employed for patients with gastritis, peptic
ulcer and with symptoms of appendicitis.
