Actions
Dermo
quinol has a good antibacterial activity and a definite action
against skin dermatophytes. Systemically useful antibiotics
are better avoided to limit the development of resistant bacterial
strains. Dermo quinol is recommended in various skin
conditions caused by susceptible bacterial organisms like
Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus
pyogenes, Corynebacterium acnes and fungal organisms like
Candida albicans, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton
rubrum, Microsporum canis, Epidermophyton floccosum.

Indications
Seborrhoeic
dermatitis, dandruff,sycosis barbae, athlete's foot, impetigo,
infantile eczema, impetiginized eczema, pityriasis versicolor,
epidermophytosis, cheiropompholyx, angular stomatitis, prickly
heat, candidiasis, anogenital pruritus, infected wounds, ulcers.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity
to quiniodochlor or iodine.
Adverse Reactions
Skin
rash, hypersensitivity, itching may occur rarely.
Precautions
In
rare cases there may be irritation to sensitized skin when
the drug should be discontinued. There may be staining of
hair and nails.
Dose
To
be applied locally on the affected parts, twice or thrice
daily.
